Dragoo ArtWorks is a run from home art business in Mount Shasta, California. I run this and the horse rescue alone. The art business pays for the horse rescue and living expenses. I do not have a non profit status or any donors, volunteers, or sponsors so all costs are out of pocket. I cut corners everywhere I can and do most of the horses' required maintenance myself. I have some health issues so I am not able to work a regular job. I feel very fortunate to be able to make a living this way.
I am a senior native Mount Shastan of Scandinavian descent. I also have an Etsy shop under the same name. I have over 2700 sales on Etsy and 4.7 stars (some people are impossible). The custom pet urns that I make are 100% handmade in the USA. I have a small wood shop and resin casting room. None of it is fancy or expensive but it somehow works!
When my dog passed I was dismayed that I couldn't find a custom urn for her, so I set about making what I had in mind. After lots of trial and error I started out making 4 dog urns, and that has now grown to many breeds of dogs, several cat and kitten urns, and even small animals - most recently pet bird urns. I am still actively adding to my collection although it takes time I don't have, but I work on new ones when I can.
